I read this book when I was in sixth grade 20 yrs ago it struck a cord with me then and I have thought of it from time to time over the years I would like to read it again as an adult to see my opinion now.

It was alright The literary quality of this book isn t very high However, since my eighth grade students will be reading it I doubt they ll mind The book does have a purpose though and does a very good job of showing the clear connection between parent drinking and their children drinking.

Pulpy TV movie adaptation based on one of the classic Linda Blair in distress films of the 70 s If my very distant memory of having read it serves me, it actually gets into the title character s teenage alienation than the movie did, if such a thing can be believed.

The after school special at its best a book Totally dated, although the end of it is a little like an episode of Intervention I saw once.

  7. Kareen
