Well written, intense horror As I read through the first chapters of Mechaniclism, I found myself wondering how the lives of Jori and Ireland could possibly be intertwined Each character s story is so intriguing and skillfully developed, and when you finally understand the connection, it is truly horrifying The author takes two characters, each living in different time periods, and unites them in the most mind blowing circumstances imaginable This book explores feelings of isolation, fear, love, [...]

This one caught my eye on and I decided to give the author a try. What a strangAe and engaging spin to this book You start with the 1600s and clockmaker Frederick Jori His work is lauded and comes to the attention of Lord Godwine, who imprisons and tortures him in unimaginable ways to make the automatons he requested Something Jori claims is an abomination.Flash forward to present day and Ireland Barton, a smart, accomplished scientist who s lived her entire life in a bubble because of an immune [...]

Interesting take on a world wide epidemic I wish the automatons had a larger role and a longer part of the story Otherwise, thoroughly enjoyable.

Lynn Lamb s Mechaniclism can certainly be classified as horror and I am not a big fan of horror stories In Lamb s capable hands, however, it is also a story about love, and fear, and revenge, and resignation with a bit of the apocalypse thrown in, all stirred into an intriguing story that grabs your attention and doesn t let you go until the end Even then, you are invested in the characters and are left wishing there was .Lamb s exceptional ability to develop her characters is what makes her wor [...]

Fascinating Examination on Being Human at the EOtWHow Lynn Lamb ties together a clockwork artist making automatons in 17th century Austria with an autoimmune deficient biochemist in San Francisco in the present time is really quite amazing and all part of joy and pain packed into this whale of a novella The apocalypse that is unleashed is virulent and ugly Of course, it must be stopped, or humans will be extinct, poof, good bye This is the first time I ve read Lynn Lamb and I have to say, this i [...]

A great read for those who like a love story, horror story, post apocalyptic story Very Engaging read Kept my attention throughout Seamlessly written while bouncing back and forth between two time periods I would be remiss if I didn t also includewhen the characters of both timeline storylines found themselves residing in the same era age Lamb brought that event to fruition in a superb manner It made sense, it brought the story together in a way that certainly satisfied this reader The writer al [...]

I won an ecopy of this book on an online facebook event. This was a quick and addicting read It had all the elements I love in a story You had horror, apocalyptic, love and action I was impressed with the writing and found it to be quite strong throughout the entire story This was easy to story to write wrong with the two separate timelines but it was done so well I m going to have nightmares and I would recommend this to all of my horror and apocalyptic loving friends.
