Lucien is the demi god grandson of a powerful god, a member of the Guardians that protect the veil, Preter and humans from the shadow kin, and he can control the weather When he was a teenager he fell in love with his best friend only to be carted off in the middle of the night by his parents, not even able to say goodbye They assured Lucien it was so he could master his ability, and when he was older he went back to look for his friend, sadly he never found him And he s never found anyone else [...]

My main problem with these books is that they are way too short.Short stories are a completely different format compared to longer narratives they tend to be denser, have to draw you inside a character from the first sentence and not let go In a longer story you can take your time and let things build.Except for their length, the books in this series feel nothing like short stories and as such they leave me unsatisfied The plots are perfectly fine for this type of series and allow for all kinds [...]

This is what I was hoping for when I first discovered this series wih so many fascinating paranormally abled people working together.I like that the romance was different again from books 2 6 Lucien and Perry were childhood friends just beginning to explore when they were separated, so them getting together was much less insta love. And there was a thoroughly entertaining battle scene where we got to see the Guardians actually fighting together and using their abilities Very fun.Favorite Quote [...]

I had initially really liked this series, but I feel like it s becoming and a la Stephani Hecht and Charlie Richards type of stories where it s just the same formula over and over I remember the first few stories really seemed to be building to something with like an overall bad guy plot but that seems to have been put on the backburner for find mate slight conflict fall in love the end type of stories the last couple have been.

Another sweet entry for the series Again, a nice distraction but the characters and the drama aren t strong enough to be anything than lightly entertaining You know what is going to happen so you can sit back, drink your coffee and relax for a bit I was pleasantly surprised by not getting caught by proofing, punctuation or editing errors on this one.
